More casts, more cans...
An update on cans, made some more moulds, but think i need to use a harder plaster.
might cast some already crushed cans too.. see what happens.
I like that these ones are 'open'
Felt a bit sorry for this one, so didn't crush him completely,
but smashing greenware for recycling is one of my favourite things to do in the studio, feel like the hulk or something
see below...
this is how i feel.. haha. not really, i'm not an angry person

Can-Opics, ha! start of...
Some photos from studio today, making ceramic drinks cans, soon to be CAN-opics. or on optics,
there are probably various different puns i could use.
used some body stains to colour the slip and also
used red iron oxide as an experiment in some of the slip, not sure if it will be red, brown, grey or black.

Short poem about ideas
In a bag on the floor
Squashed flat in a book
you don't have the time
it's your turn to cook

glass experiments no 1
So i got the old Grandad Foakes rock tumbler out.
piece of history as F.Foakes himself got a
British Empire Medal for services to trade unions and service to geology.
I'm experimenting with tumbling coloured glass.
glass can be difficult to mosaic with as it is so smooth, glue can't 'key' onto the surface.
this will hopefully rough it up a bit, give it the effect of 'sea-washed' glass.
it's pretty damn noisy
hope it doesn't disturb the fish, living in the garage
(convict cichlids)
lovely lady Daniella at new brewery arts
gave me tonnes of bits of coloured glass for free to experiment with
this is just the stuff left that i didn't sort out!
watch this space!

ENAMEL BADGE DRAWINGS
Some of designs for enamel badges I've been working on,
Lungs, Liver, Stomach. Canopic Organs. (working in making the intestines look appealing)
watch this space, no doubt i'll end up getting everything in gold.

'Vigil for Kurt' ?
Made a stomach mould, for slip casting stomachs. so today made a rather horrible and fantastic candle holder. used coloured slips so should look good when clear glazed.
gunna put a red candle in it and have someone with a weak disposition over for dinner .
also made a banana to hang on the wall
also made three small urns with flushed mutli-coloured slip lines, start of small line of George Harrissons
also, this is my jam, today it's neckbrace by ratatat

GEORGE JACKET
D.I.Y TIME, Man I love using a sewing machine after a long break, it's like my long lost friend, just like riding a bike.
So i had this idea to embroider a biker jacket but instead of something like this... which is classic and awesome but not really me.
I wanted something rather more colourful, and something relating to my artwork.
so i got a jacket off the ol' ebay and got stitching this week.
....
...so i created this George Harrison Lungs Jacket. RIP George and John, (They are the focus of my new sculptures that i'm working on.)
