Breeze blocks, what a breeze.

Feel like a genius, i know it's very simple, but look!

Now I can spray paint everything evenly, all I needed was some hooks, rods, and two breeze blocks!

and I can move each row and do the next lot, perfect!

I feel sad that I am so proud of this.

Fotonow's "Digital Mash Up"

Great video, met these guys on Saturday through my friend Jenny, what I thought would be a lazy saturday turned into an amazing day of drawing, learning about photography, music and a bit of dancing! I'm the one in the green jumper!!

Many Wonderful Makes

Sexy New HOMEMADE Sketchbook.

amazingly only had to buy the main white paper. So total cost only six pounds! (excluding labour). Already had this Crazy fabric and cardboard, thread etc...
The inside covers back and front made from an old battered Andy Warhol poster.
bit wrinkly because we used PVA instead of wallpaper paste.

Here's a sneak peek of me starting to apply the decals to a Kurt Cobain vessel, thought I'd lay them out neatly first, makes me think I should do some framed prints too!

So when I was scavenging hardcore for the foundations of the studio, I stumbled upon a whole load of these house shaped bricks when skip diving... been wanted to mosaic one for ages and made the little terracotta tiles to give a nice brick effect. still not sure if they have a use.... paperweight?

Also made Jam and chutney today (lots of rhubarb needed picking in the allotment) I think I most enjoy making the labels...I think the reason I got so much done today is I got up at 6am, and was active till about 9pm. i think I'll sleep well tonight!

Bent Steel and Jelly Beans

Very happy and productive today, Bisque firing on with my Mexican tree of life inside.

So here's Kurt Cobain in steel. got bending today.
Shadow here shows you what it will look like when painted black.

Here's the urn/jar/vase (anything but 'pot'), looks a bit light here, but it's green mottled all over,
because of the copper carbonate sprayed over the glaze.

Test in pink of the paint, nice and even, also separately sprayed concrete underneath,
looks like nougat!

here's a face pot i made a while ago, bit squashed, but perfect home for my new
'jelly bean plant' (Sedum rubrotinctum)
it will go more red in the sun :)

Decal matter

not a pretty picture really, the state of my desk and floor, it's taken three days to cut out all these decal transfers.

Good news is... tomorrow i'll get glazing (mayb monday... day of rest and all that) and soon i'll be another step closer to my brand spanking new work being finished!

Sorry John Henry, I got a machine to do it.

Got the steel cut! Took about month to get the drawings right and lots of £££££ but now I have something to work with, very happy with the result, can't wait to get bending and painting.

For my new body of work on the 27 club.

Sad stories, but all left behind beautiful art/music.

Here is one of my recent glaze tests,
what the words really mean is a mystery.. I need to make better notes.

This is some glaze with red food dye added, very red, soaked right through, but then after firing, there was nothing left, Bingo! now when I glaze I can see where I've been.

Find comfort in Fimo

With NINE A3 sheets of complicated decals to cut out,
I thought I'd have another think about the tool I'm using.

Last official buddy chat

Over the last few months I have had 15 hours with the lovely Claire Loder through the hothouse buddy scheme. It's been more than a little bit useful, she's very inspiring and insightful.

Glad to wear glasses

The last 90 minutes went very fast, lots of talk of temporary tattoos, mosaics and metal.

Some of the bits and pieces I've made with an eye to mosaic them soon.

Sad that's it's over, but we both promised to keep in touch.

Seventh Heron

Lovely walk in Regents park the other day

Frankly Folksy Feature

So the lovely people at Folksy, and Frankly magazine have featured me as one of their artists on their 'inspired by' feature.

To get a glimpse of what goes on inside artists heads!

Here's one of my inspirations, the fascinating, Andy Warhol.

Jumping on the letterpress bandwagon

Today I made myself a sort of hallmark style stamp for my work, I've been initialling the base of each piece for a while now, but I really wanted something a bit more dainty.

and boy is it dainty!

In my grubby mits

Also tried out making some more basic mosaic tiles, getting impatient, as always..
I used the hot air gun, creating a film of drier clay above the wet clay.
The drag lines are very effective I think!

Reminds me of this style of icing!
Clay inspired by biscuits.
